In fact, drug-induced overdoses are now the leading cause of death among Americans under the age of 50. In 2016 alone more than 63,000 U.S. citizens died from a drug overdose.

Not everyone will respond positively to the recovery methods and teachings of 12-step groups. In some cases, people may be turned off by the implicit religious component involved (e.g., “we came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity”).

Like Al-Anon, Nar-Anon is specifically for family members of addicts. However, unlike Al-Anon, this group does not discriminate by the type of substance being abused. All addictions are treated equally here, similar to Narcotics Anonymous in general.
Unfortunately, Twin Falls and Idaho, in general, doesn't have many Nar-Anon meetings to choose from. In fact, the only one in the entire state takes place in Nampa. Here's some information to help you find it.

Similar to 12-step programs like NA and AA, SMART Recovery also has meetings that take place specifically to help friends and family members of addicts. Also like Nar-Anon and Al-Anon, though, these meetings are a little bit harder to come by too.

Mental health resources are plentiful in Twin Falls, and they include government-run programs and professional treatment options.
The Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline can be reached by calling (208) 398-4357 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This number is available for texting between 3 pm and midnight Monday through Friday.
Also, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available as well. Their number is 1-800-273-8255.
Promise is the name of the new mental health treatment program being offered by Ashwood Recovery in Boise. They work with clients on an outpatient basis by offering high quality day treatment services. People come to them with both acute and severe mental health needs.

Clients have access to medical staff every day they are at the program. They also meet regularly with a psychiatrist for medication management and have both individual and group therapy.
